The Hunger Games is one of the most anticipated movies of 2012, and Taylor Swift has contributed to the soundtrack.

Taylor tweeted, "Something I've been VERY excited about for a VERY long time is going to be happening VERY soon." Not long afterwards, she wrote, “And this is it, the big surprise... Go get it!”

It was a link to a new song called "Safe and Sound" from the movie's soundtrack, which she recorded with the folk-country Grammy-nominated duo The Civil Wars.

The Hunger Games, starring Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth is based on the wildly-popular series of young adult novels by Suzanne Collins, about a young girl forced to fight for her life as part of a televised battle where there can be only one survivor.
