Fall Fashion: Fall Lip Color!
There's something about a brand new tube of lipstick, especially one in that perfect shade. The untouched, slightly pointed tip; the easy glide as you turn the tube for the first time; the color effortlessly sliding up and out.
Ok, maybe it's just me, but I think unanimously girls feel more dressed up when wearing a special lip color. At least for me, it's almost a given.
With fall literally on our heels, I thought I'd try some new autumn-esque lipsticks. I decided on three colors I've seen trending the last few weeks.
During the summer I was obsessed with muted pinks and nude colors, loving their understated feel. I naturally loved the subtleness of one of fall's biggest lip color: Berry.
I chose Berry Rich by NYC. I didn't quite expect the color to be so vibrant as I was going for a more subtle look, but I did end up liking the end result.

Taylor Swift has been rocking the classic red lip the last year or so, even naming her upcoming album Red. She's obviously obsessed, and I mean, really, a red lip sets the mold for a classic look.
I chose Fire and Ice by Revlon. I didn't hate the end result, but I think it'd have to be a really special occasion for me to wear it. I could never it daily like Taylor does.

I have to admit, I was apprehensive about trying one of this fall's trends: the dark lip. The jump from nude to burgundy seemed huge for me! But I thought, "What the heck."
I chose Mahogany by NYC. Well, I'm glad I didn't pay too much money for this color because I DID actually hate this color. I could never see myself wear this in any occasion, with maybe the exception of Halloween.

Overall, I found one color that I probably wouldn't ordinarily choose that I actually loved. The other two will be used sparingly at best. One tip I followed that I highly recommend is when picking new lip colors: buy the color is a cheaper brand first. The NYC brands I used were $1.50 a piece; the Revlon was $4.99. So really I only spent a few dollars and now I know which colors I like so I can upgrade to the better quality brands.
