Talk about true friendship! Kellie Pickler completely shaved her head in support of her friend, Summer Holt Miller, who was diagnosed with breast cancer in June.
Pickler released a statement on Tuesday after buzzing her blonde locks saying, "Cancer does not discriminate. If [shaving my head] compels even one person to change their mentality toward waiting until the age of 40 for their mammogram, then it will be worth it.”
Miller underwent a double mastectomy last month and has been declared cancer free but will begin chemotherapy tomorrow to insure the cancer will never return. The mother of two made the decision to shave her head before the treatment begins.
Pickler called the experience a "life changing day." She and Miller also put out a behind the scenes video of the event.
